DRAFTS

In just under a month (April 30th, midnight GMT), all writers should have submitted their 10k rough drafts to me. What will happen is that I'll run a word-count check on the drafts and then on May 1st, I'll make a post of all fic summaries for the artists to claim.

If you can't meet the word count but would still like to participate, please contact me. I'll make exceptions on a case by case basis. If you need to drop out, you can either let me know or just refrain from handing in a draft. I will NOT be chasing up drafts - if it's not in by the deadline, you're out of the big bang.

All drafts should be sent to this email address: 00qbang [at] gmail [.] com as an attachment. (All filetypes should work just fine.)
In the body of the email, please post an extensive summary (not the one you'd post with your fic, but a summary that gives the artists a more in-depth idea of what your fic is about. You don't have to reveal any twists or spoilery plot-points.)
If there are warnings for your fic, please add those too.

When all the fics have been claimed, I will email the draft to the artists who claimed the fic (with the writer on CC). From there, it's up to the artist-writer team to figure out the level of collaboration.

The final deadline for all works is July 1st. Further information about the deadline and posting will go up later.

Are you looking for a certain percentage done or just 10K and enough for an artist to work from?

The min. Word count for the finished fic is 15k and the rough draft should be 10k. You'll always have the chance to give your artist an updated fic or whatever, just keep them in the loop with what's happening. :)

Question - So the 10k draft doesn't have to have a completed ending - it just needs to be the first 10k or so of the story?

Not a writer, but just wanted to say that I'm so excited to see what everyone has come up with.

Two quick questions:
1. Will summaries be anonymous?
2. Will summaries be locked to the community, or available to any readers?

Thanks! I'm trying to finish the first draft prior to handing it in and I wasn't sure what I can/can't reveal in the summary.

Thanks, that is helpful -- one or two things that I'd have probably revealed in my summary if it was locked will spoil the story, so I'll edit it for public consumption :)

ETA: I probably should have asked if there's a format you wanted us to follow. I was going to go with working title, pairings and characters, then artist's summary, with warnings at the very end. Let me know if there's anything I need to add.

Ok, cool :) Thanks!

(Now to try to finish this bloody draft by the 30th. I think I'll almost get there. I know it doesn't have to be a complete draft, but I'd really like it to be!)

Unfortunately I have to drop. RL hates me. :(

Is there anyway we can opt out of you sending our draft to our artist? I'd like to talk to my artist and let me have a little more time and send them a much more completed draft.

I would clear it with my artist first I'd just like the option of giving them a more complete draft is all.

If the draft's handed in a little past midnight, does it still count? I had a rough day and need a bit more time than I thought to polish off what I want to in the draft before I send it. Is that okay?
